Kyssen is based on a photograph of the sculpture Brother Kiss by the italian sculptor Luca Madrassi. Brother Kiss was made in several editions. From 1897 to 1926, it was produced in parian by Gustavsberg Poslinsfabrik. Also framed photographs of the sculpture were sold. Today, these can be found in second hand markets.

It became important to understand the sculpture in its three dimensional form. Its negative space in the clay. Finding it without seeing it. Pushing out the material, sensing the sculpture from within. Casting it in plaster.
