wood boxes, nails
Old wooden boxes turned into a collection of transformation instruments.
Most ancient Greek and Roman sculptures have lost parts of their original body: noses, genitals, fingers, hands and arms have been broken off.
In neuroscience there is a famous test, a perceptual experience called the Rubber Hand Illusion. The illusion is commonly used in the study of Body ownership, the subjective experience of one's body being one's own. In the Rubber hand illusion, the subject perceives an artefact, a hand-like-object, as his/her own hand.
The work Portals is a transformation instrument referring to the Rubber Hand Illusion and the lost hands of sculptures. A possible entry to understand sculpture.
